The Sorcery of Nymph Circe Reveals New Trailer, Main Visual, January 2026 Premiere

The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe anime film has received a new trailer and a main visual, showing more of the returning central trio of Hathaway Noa, Gigi Andalucia, and Kenneth Sleg.

It was also announced that the movie, the sequel to 2021’s Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and the second in a trilogy, is set to begin screening in Japan on January 30 JST across 363 locations.

Prepared comments from Kensho Ono (Hathaway) and Reina Ueda (Gigi) provided teases about Gigi’s role in the The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. “Hathaway is a man who questions the world itself — torn by doubts about what justice means and what he is truly fighting for. He suffers in solitude as he struggles with those questions, while Gigi’s presence grows ever larger, spiraling out of control. Is it the world that’s gone mad, or is it something else?” said Ono.

Meanwhile, Ueda said, “Does Gigi truly realize that she holds the power to influence the course of this conflict — or not? There are moments where it almost sounds as if she’s toying with the very syllables of ‘Hathaway Noa,’ yet beneath that playfulness lies someone who struggles and thinks deeply.

I hope audiences will be able to feel that sincerity and complexity in her performance.”

The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway story was originally told as a novel trilogy, penned by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, that was released between 1989 to 1990 under the KADOKAWA Sneaker Bunko label. The titular Hathaway, is the son of Londo Bell commander Bright Noa, a notable character in the Universal Century setting, who is now the leader of the anti-Earth Federation organization Mafty following the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack.

It was previously announced that The Sorcery of Nymph Circe would come to North America sometime in the future. New York Comic Con 2025 saw the reaffirmation of a United States release, though there are no updates on the specific date yet. The first movie arrived on Netflix on July 1, 2021, not long after its Japanese premiere on June 11 JST the same year.

Beyond the new Hathaway updates, there’s a Global Gundam Poll 2025 where the victorious Gundam from each category (global and language-specific) gets rewarded with a specially drawn illustration. The poll is open until December 25 at 11:59 PM JST. More details here.
