Delaware County officials hold vigil outside courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania for survivors, victims of domestic abuse

Delaware County officials held a vigil outside the county courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania for survivors and victims of domestic abuse.

MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) — Officials in Delaware County are raising awareness about domestic violence.

A vigil was held Thursday morning outside the county courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania.

Survivors shared their stories alongside members of the Domestic Abuse Project, an organization that helps to prevent tragedy and empower survivors.

District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer vowed to get justice for those victims and their families.

“There is no group of people that live more in the shadows than victims of domestic abuse. I am so proud to stand with people who, every single day, fight for those people,” he said.

In 2024, 106 Pennsylvania residents lost their lives due to domestic violence, with seven of them being from Delaware County.
