The official X/Twitter account for the Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love TV anime series announced the addition of two new cast members. The anime began airing in Japan on October 6, 2025.
The two new cast members include Akeno Watanabe as Yumeko’s mother (right) and Yasuhiro Kikuchi as her father (left).

They join a voice cast that includes:

Kazuomi Koga (Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 1,2, and 4) is directing the anime series, with Aya Watane as the series screenwriter and scriptwriter and Atsuko Takahashi (Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube co-animation designer) as character designer and co-animation director. Marvy Jack is handling the animation production.
The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga series, written and illustrated by Mamakari. It has been serialized under NTT Solmare’s Koisuru Soirée digital magazine since September 27, 2019. Thirteen digital volumes have been released as of June 2025, with five print volumes also being released as of December 2022. MangaPlaza has licensed and published the manga digitally on its app and website service.
The manga inspired a live-action TV drama adaptation that aired in 2022.

Yumeko, who works at a confectionery company, loses her memory in an accident. Once consumed by insecurities and self-loathing, she wakes up with a completely different personality that is super positive and overflowing with self-confidence. Her drastic change leaves those around her confused, but her cheerful and straightforward attitude begins to positively influence them. Romance, work, and friendship—with a touch of mystery too.
