Spooky season is just around the corner, and it seems HBO and Max want to take full advantage of that!
Originally expected to debut in 2026 following production delays, we can now confirm that IT: Welcome to Derry will premiere in just over a month.
Multiple sources, including HBO, are confirming that IT: Welcome to Derry will debut on October 26th, just in time for Halloween!
The nine-episode series serves as a prequel to Andy Muschietti’s 2017 and 2019 films, and will take place in 1962.
Should the first season of IT: Welcome to Derry be successful, two more seasons are planned, taking place in 1935 and 1908 respectively.
IT: Welcome to Derry will air on both HBO and its streaming service Max simultaneously. Originally intended to be a streaming-original series, the property generated so much buzz that a traditional television launch was decided upon.
The show stars an ensemble cast including James Remar, Taylour Paige, Rudy Mancuso, Madeleine Stowe, and Chris Chalk among many others. Bill Skarsgard is also set to reprise his iconic role as Pennywise the Clown, for the first time in six years.
Alongside Muschietti, his wife Barbara will produce IT: Welcome to Derry, with Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane serving as showrunners.
So, we have a date locked in for the highly-anticipated of return Pennywise! Be sure to tune in on October 26th to see how things kick-off.
