Jermaine Wiggins #85 of the New England Patriots celebrates a major win during the AFC playoff game at Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The Patriots came from behind to win 16-13 in overtime.

“I had my own private green room all to myself to lay out all my stuff, kick my feet up and relax as I ate some free snacks provided by the media station. Fresh off of yet another sold out showing of my debut movie Boston to Philly, I was on cloud 9 and it was the first time I could say I felt “Hollywood.”

“The room was very spacious, and an entire side of the wall was covered by vanity mirrors and bright yellow lightbulbs that lined the borders of the frame. I had reached the point of my career where I was going to have an interview alongside a bonafide football great, a hometown legend, a super bowl champion! Surprisingly, I wasn’t even the slightest nervous — until he walked into the room that is.”

“A large shadow gingerly creeped into the room before the 6 ft 6inch, 300 lb frame of Jermaine Wiggins came into sight. The guy could barely fit through the door and the small number of fans following him and asking for a photo just added to the imposing visual of the NFL athlete in the doorway.

“I quickly noticed how small the “spacious” green room really was once Wiggy and everyone that wanted his photo entered. So much for my private green room I instantly thought to myself…smh.”

“Once the crowd left it was just me and him. Two individuals who had a soft spot for the very talented and kindhearted Sag-Union Actor Jo Pino, the TV producer for that morning segment.”

“Jermaine was insightful and a lot funnier than I expected. Within a very short period of time, we were cracking up and sharing funny stories of growing up in Mass and dealing with Mass-holes during our sports journey playing Highschool and College sports. I played in the GBL League as a HS Varsity basketball player and also as a collegiate athlete for D3 Basketball. He played everywhere under the sun as a 5 star recruit both in HS and AAU, he played D1 Football as a pro level recruit and then for New England Patriots as a Pro Athlete then 2x Super Bowl Champ.
We had so much in common.”

“He’s a family guy at his core. Quickly, we easily transitioned from our love of sports and our hometowns to the love of family and friends. He lit up when he spoke about his wife Taleana and how she was the glue that held everything together.

“Only months after our first meeting that fateful day on set did I then meet Taleana on another set, this time my movie set for my second film Sellas Kitchen.

Taleana was in fact everything that Jermaine claimed her to be, highly intelligent and very kind…a powerful mix.”
