Highway no Datenshi Movie Premieres on April 10, 2026

The next Detective Conan anime movie is subtitled Highway no Datenshi, and it’s set to open in Japanese theaters on April 10, 2026. A teaser visual drawn by Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama has been released as well. 

Takahiro Hasui (Yaiba: Samurai Legend, Mob Psycho 100 III) is directing the film with Takahiro Okura (Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram, Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween) as scriptwriter and Yugo Kanno (Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram, Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine) as music composer. TMS Entertainment is the animation production studio.

Detective Conan: Highway no Datenshi (Meitantei Conan: Highway no Datenshi) will be the franchise’s 29th anime movie. The last movie, Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, premiered in Japan on April 18 and scored the franchise’s highest opening weekend and second-highest overall earnings at its domestic box office. It is currently listed as the 16th highest-grossing movie in Japan on Kogyo Tsushin.

Aoyama‘s Detective Conan (titled as Case Closed by Viz Media) manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1994 and has 107 tankobon volumes as of April 2025. The TV anime premiered in 1996, and the first anime film was released in 1997.
