Melbourne City return to AFC Champions League Elite action on Wednesday night when they face FC Seoul in the South Korean capital.
Currently sat second on the ACL Elite ladder, City have been on a blistering run of form in Asian Football’s premier cup competition.
Starting with a 2-1 win over Thai Champions Buriram United on Matchday 3, City went on to record subsequent victories over Japanese side Machida Zelvia and Malaysian powerhouse Johor Darul Ta’zim.

Despite losing their first two matches, City are now in with a fantastic chance of qualifying for the next round of the competition, having amassed nine points to leave them second behind Japanese giants Vissel Kobe.
Hot on their heels though are Wednesday night’s opponents FC Seoul, who sit third on the ladder with eight points after their opening five matches.

City head into the clash fresh from a hard-fought 1-0 win over Australia Cup winners Newcastle Jets in Round 7 of the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Kavian Rahmani’s 27th-minute winner proved to be enough to help Aurelio Vidmar’s side clinch all three points at McDonald Jones Stadium, aided by another standout performance from goalkeeper Patrick Beach.
The result moves City up into fourth on the ladder, three points behind league leaders Sydney FC.

As for FC Seoul, Kim Ki-dong’s side are coming into Wednesday night’s clash off the back of a 2-1 away loss to Jeonbuk.
When it comes to the ACL Elite, FC Seoul have recorded two wins, two draws and a loss in this season’s competition, with their most recent result being an impressive 3-1 win over Kevin Muscat’s Shanghai Port in China.
Furthermore, key to the sides’ performance that night and indeed all season has been former Manchester United and England winger Jesse Lingard, who bagged a brace in the 3-1 win.
