Evangelion 30th Anniversary Event Reveals Commemorative Visual

The X (formerly Twitter) page of the upcoming Evangelion:30+ ; 30th Anniversary of Evangelion event has unveiled a commemorative visual featuring the Rebuild movies’ main Evangelion pilots mid-jump and framed by splashes of color.

The illustration will also be featured on some official goods.

Shuichi Iseki (Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX co-design works artist, Eve “Mob” music video character designer) drew the illustration. Iseki was an animation director on Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon A Time.

The Evangelion:30+ ; 30th Anniversary of Evangelion event will take place at Yokohama Arena from February 21, 2026 to February 23, 2026. Plans for the stage portion of the event include a kabuki performance on day 3. The ticket page (there’s a section for overseas fans) is here.

The original Hideaki Anno-created and -directed Neon Genesis Evangelion TV anime that kickstarted the franchise began airing in 1995. The series saw teenager Shinji Ikari being forced to pilot one of the titular Evangelions to battle terrifying beings called Angels, with humanity’s fate on the line. It was followed by the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and The End of Evangelion movies, as well as other types of media like manga, video games, and a novel series.

A new movie tetralogy began in 2007 and finally came to an end in 2021 with Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time, the 47th highest-grossing film in Japan. An updated version of the fourth film titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon A Time was released on June 12, 2021 and was streamed internationally via Amazon Prime on August 13, 2021. The Blu-ray and DVD release is titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon A Time.

A new Blu-ray release titled EVANGELION 30th Anniversary Movie Collection is set to be released in Japan on December 10 JST.
