Adelaide weather forecast for Sunday December 7th and the days ahead

As early December unfolds, Adelaide and the wider South Australian region are set for a stretch of mostly calm and sunny conditions, according to the latest forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology. With temperatures gradually climbing and only minimal rainfall expected, residents can look forward to a mostly stable start to the week, ideal for outdoor plans, end-of-year gatherings, and preparing for the festive season.

Today in Adelaide, the city is experiencing partly cloudy skies with a mild maximum of 21°C. Light winds from the southeast will ease into the afternoon as they shift southwesterly, setting the tone for a calm evening. The settled conditions continue into Monday, which is shaping up to be noticeably warmer. After a cool 13°C start, Adelaide is set to enjoy sunny skies with temperatures rising to 27°C. Winds will drift from the northwest before turning southwesterly, staying gentle enough to keep the day comfortable for commuters and those spending time outdoors.

Tuesday will see the temperature rise again, with Adelaide expecting a top of 30°C. The morning will begin at a mild 15°C before sunshine dominates once again. Winds will become more variable throughout the day, moving between southeast and southwest and strengthening slightly to around 30 km/h in the afternoon. Conditions will ease again by evening, keeping the night mild.

By Wednesday, Adelaide shifts back to partly cloudy skies with a forecast maximum of 28°C. Mornings remain consistent, starting at 15°C, while winds continue their easterly-to-southwesterly pattern. While slightly cooler than Tuesday, it remains a warm and pleasant day for the city.

Across the broader South Australian region, conditions will also stay mostly dry, although the far north and northeast may experience isolated light showers and the chance of thunderstorms. These systems may bring gusty winds capable of lifting dust in exposed areas. For the Lower South East, showers are possible late on Monday as a high pressure system moves over the state, followed by a weak cold front brushing the southeast.

Tuesday brings largely dry weather statewide, with the exception of early morning fog patches across the agricultural area and potential isolated thunderstorms in the far northwest during the afternoon and evening. By Wednesday, the agricultural area may see isolated light showers, accompanied by the ongoing chance of thunderstorms in the far northwest.

There are currently no weather warnings active for any South Australian districts.

With warmer days ahead and only small pockets of instability expected in remote regions, the outlook remains great for early-summer activities, travel, and events.

Upcoming events this week include the Adelaide Polo Classic, Showcase SA Rooftop Long Lunch, Hahndorf Christmas Village and Twilight Races at Morphetville.
