A Kind of Blindness | Write Out Loud

A Kind of Blindness | Write Out Loud

Do you still see me

Do you see the things I do

When I think that you’re not looking

And if you see them

Why do you say nothing

Do I still look at you

Do I see who you’ve become

And who it is you are

When your gaze is averted

Do I see who it is

I sleep beside?

Untouched, unseen

Quietly unknown

But not unloved

How do you see the world

When you look out

Is it a rising chorus

Of stunning symmetries

And wild perfections

Is it poetry and fireworks

Or something to be endured

We’re driving by, eyes down

A kind of blindness

Most ruinous…

Do you see what’s happening

Do you feel what’s missing

Can you intuit

What’s coming…
