After his separation from wife Natasha Stankovic, Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has been spotted often with model Mahieka Sharma. He has also shared pictures with Mahieka on social media. Now, Hardik has called out a section of paparazzi for clicking his rumoured girlfriend Mahieka from an inappropriate angle. Hardik also requested them to be a bit mindful while capturing pictures and videos of women.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Hardik Pandya wrote a long note, accusing paps of turning a ‘private moment’ into ‘cheap sensationalism’. “I understand that living in the public eye comes with attention and scrutiny, it’s part of the life I’ve chosen. But today something happened that crossed a line,” he wrote.

Mahieka Sharma was spotted leaving a restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai, on Monday night. A video of shutterbugs capturing her from a low-angle shot near the staircase has since gone viral on social media. He added, “Mahieka was simply walking down a staircase at a Bandra restaurant when paparazzi decided to capture her from an angle that no woman deserves to be photographed from. A private moment was turned into cheap sensationalism. This isn’t about headlines or who clicked what, it’s about basic respect. Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries.”

Hardik Pandya then urged media to be mindful of the angles while clicking women. “To the media brothers who work hard every day: I respect your hustle, and I always cooperate. But I’m requesting you all, please be a little more mindful. Not everything needs to be captured. Not every angle needs to be taken. Let’s keep some humanity in this game. Thank you,” he concluded.

The cricketer is currently gearing up for his international comeback in a T20I series against South Africa. On the other hand, Mahieka Sharma, who is a model, has been recognised with awards such as IFA Model of the Year, GQ Best Dressed, India’s Next Supermodel, and Elle Model of the Season, as per her Instagram bio.

For the unversed, Hardik Pandya and Natasha Stankovic tied the knot in 2020 and announced their separation in 2024. The duo continues to co-parent their son, Agastya.
