While we’re approaching the third day of summer, today it might feel like the first proper day here in Adelaide as the weather warms up, according to the latest forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology.
Today in Adelaide, residents can expect a mostly sunny day with a maximum temperature of 30 degrees. Winds will shift from north to northwesterly in the morning and return to north to northeasterly in the evening, ranging from 15 to 30 km/h, meaning moderate winds and clear skies.
Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy with lows of 21 degrees and highs reaching up to 34 degrees. Winds will again change directions throughout the day, starting from the north to northeasterly, and reaching speeds of up to 35 km/h before subsiding in the late afternoon to a milder southeast to southwesterly breeze.
On Friday, Adelaide will enjoy another sunny day, although there is a slight chance of an evening shower. Temperatures will range from 14 degrees in the morning to 26 degrees by afternoon. That day, lighter winds are expected, starting from the east to southeasterly direction and shifting west to southwesterly during the day.
A Fire Weather Warning has been issued for the West Coast and Lower Eyre Peninsula districts. Conditions of extreme fire danger are forecast due to hot, dry weather compounded by fresh and gusty northwesterly winds. The Country Fire Service has advised residents in these areas to action their Bushfire Survival Plans immediately and stay informed via local radio stations and official websites.
Across the wider South Australian region, the next few days will see varied conditions. A high-pressure system is currently moving eastwards and will be centred over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday evening. Following this, a low-pressure trough will move into Western SA, bringing the chance of showers and potential thunderstorms late Wednesday into Thursday. While temperatures will be above average in the north, they will be slightly below the seasonal norms in the southeast, potentially accompanied by isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the southern agricultural area and the West Coast district.
As South Australians adjust to these changing conditions, staying updated with the latest weather warnings and forecasts is crucial, particularly for those in high-risk fire zones.
Happy Wednesday!
