American comics publisher Fantagraphics announced the launch of a new imprint for East Asian comics and graphic novels called “Takumigraphics.” The new imprint plans to release 16 titles per year, beginning in Spring 2026.
The newly established imprint will launch with an initial slate of manga releases that include:
- • Wandering Cat’s Cage by Akane Torikai (translated by Jocelyne Allen) — May 26, 2026
- • Lovers of the Empire Volume 1 by Yudori — June 23, 2026
- • Wandering Son Volume One and Two by Takako Shimura (translated by Rachel Thorn) — July 7, 2026
- • On Their Frontlines: The Lives of Japanese War Brides by Marina Lisa Komiya (translated by Diana Taylor) — August 11, 2026
- • Brain Damage by Shintaro Kago — TBD
Publishers Weekly also reports that Takumigraphics will release works by authors from “Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, and other Asian countries” later in the future. The imprint will also continue its partnership with publisher Mangasplaining to release select titles in book form.
