Take your marks for a special sports edition of Australia’s favourite comedy quiz show, The 1% Club Sports Night premiering 7.00pm Sunday on Seven and 7plus.
Hosted by acclaimed Aussie comedian Jim Jefferies, this action-packed edition sees 100 sports-loving Aussies from across the country swap the field, court, gym and ring for the quiz floor, all chasing the chance to win up to $100,000 and earn a coveted place in The 1% Club.
Among the competitors stepping up to the challenge are Leonora, a world champion power lifter determined to prove she’s just as strong mentally as she is physically; Daniel, a former cage fighter boasting 13 wins and hoping to add another victory to his record; and Lara, the youngest player of the night, who represents the emerging Matildas squad and is playing alongside her proud grandfather, Phil.
Also entering the competition is Shane, who both plays for and coaches a Victorian AFL team. Fresh off three consecutive premiership wins, he’s hoping his winning streak continues all the way to the prize pot.
With athletes from a wide range of sports testing their logic, problem-solving and common sense against some of the toughest questions on television, The 1% Club Sports Night proves brains can be just as important as brawn.
Plus, alongside these standout competitors are 95 other everyday Australians from across the nation’s sporting community, all vying to be crowned champion, join the elite 1%, and take home the massive cash prize.
