Al Ain ended the UAE football season with another trophy, beating Al Jazira 4-1 to win the 49th UAE President’s Cup at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium on Friday night.
The win gave Al Ain their eighth President’s Cup title and completed a domestic double, following their 15th UAE Pro League crown earlier this month.
Al Jazira made the sharper start in Abu Dhabi. Nabil Fekir opened the scoring after 11 minutes, curling a free kick in from the edge of the area to give his side an early lead.
Al Ain’s response was swift. Soufiane Rahimi equalised four minutes later, then scored again in the 20th minute to turn the final around before the midway point of the first half.
By then, Al Jazira had lost control of the match. Al Ain kept the pressure on and added a third just before the break, with Abdul Karim Traore scoring in the 44th minute.
That left Al Jazira with a long way back in the second half. They pushed for a route into the game, but Al Ain protected their lead and managed the closing stages well.
Erik Jorgens added the fourth goal deep into stoppage time, sealing the result and starting the celebrations among the Al Ain players and supporters in the capital.
The result capped a strong season for Al Ain, who finish 2025-26 as both league champions and President’s Cup winners.
